SDM Nubra Convenes Review Meeting on Disaster Management and Mitigation Preparedness.
Nubra, July 6, 2026: Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nubra, Sh. Jigmet Raftan, JKAS, convened a review meeting on disaster management and mitigation preparedness in Nubra District today at the DC Conference Hall.
During the meeting, the SDM directed all concerned departments to remain fully prepared to respond to any emergency situation, particularly flash floods and rising water level in view of onset of monsoon. He emphasized the need for close coordination among all departments and instructed them to keep the necessary manpower, machinery and resources ready for immediate deployment.
The SDM also stressed the importance of taking preventive measures in view of possible road blockages, rising water levels in streams and rivers and other weather-related emergencies. He directed the departments to ensure prompt response, timely restoration of connectivity and effective public safety measures to minimize inconvenience to residents and tourists.
The meeting was attended by Tehsildar Sumoor, Officers Commanding of 54 RCC, 104 RCC and 111 RCC GREF, Naib Tehsildar Panamik, BDOs of Diskit/Panamik and Turtuk, Assistant Executive Engineers from the Power Development Department( PDD), PWD, Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC), Nubra.
