Orientation Training on Stop Diarrhoea Campaign Held at CHC Khaltse.
Khaltse, July 10, 2026: An orientation training programme on the Stop Diarrhoea Campaign (SDC) was conducted today at the Conference Hall of the Community Health Centre (CHC), Khaltse, under the supervision of Block Medical Officer (BMO) Khaltse, Dr. Javed Ahmad, to equip healthcare workers with the knowledge and skills required for the effective implementation of the campaign. The Stop Diarrhoea Campaign will be observed from July 10 to August 21, 2026.
Addressing the participants, BMO Khaltse, Dr. Javed Ahmad, said that the training programme was aimed at strengthening the capacity of healthcare personnel in the prevention, early identification, and effective management of diarrhoeal diseases among children. He highlighted key interventions, including the use of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), Zinc supplementation, promotion of exclusive breastfeeding, access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation, hand hygiene, and community awareness activities.
The programme was attended by ASHA workers from across District Sham.
During the training, Paediatrician Dr. Splachen Gonboo emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to reduce childhood morbidity and mortality caused by diarrhoeal diseases through timely treatment, preventive measures, and active community participation. He also stressed the need to ensure the adequate availability and distribution of ORS packets and Zinc tablets, conduct awareness campaigns at the grassroots level, and promote healthy hygiene practices throughout the campaign period.
ASHA Coordinator Tsewang Nurboo also addressed the participants and highlighted the objectives and significance of the Stop Diarrhoea Campaign. He urged ASHA workers to actively engage with communities and create awareness about preventive measures to protect children from diarrhoeal diseases.
The training concluded with an interactive session during which participants discussed field-level challenges, shared their experiences, and explored strategies for the successful implementation of the Stop Diarrhoea Campaign across the Khaltse Block.
