Special Gram Sabha on Drug Abuse Awareness Held at Liker.
Liker, July 13: A Special Gram Sabha was held at Liker on July 13, 2026, at the Panchayat Hall under the chairmanship of SDM Shri Gurmet Namgail to raise awareness about drug abuse among the community.
The programme was attended by officials from the Medical Department, Ladakh Police, the Social Rehabilitation Centre team, and other dignitaries.
During the programme, resource persons sensitized the public about the growing menace of drug abuse, particularly among the youth. They highlighted the harmful effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society, and urged the community to work collectively towards making the area a drug-free zone through awareness, prevention, and shared responsibility.
