DC Kargil Reviews Developmental Issues of Poyen Constituency, Conducts On-site Inspection at Bagh-e-Khomeini.
Kargil, July 15, 2026: The Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar, today held a meeting in his office chamber with Councillor Mohd Amin of Poyen Constituency, village representatives and officers of the concerned departments to review various developmental issues and public demands pertaining to the constituency.
During the meeting, the Councillor and village representatives projected several issues relating to education, road connectivity, traffic management and other civic amenities. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the issues in detail and directed the concerned departments to take necessary action. He also assured that all genuine demands would be addressed in a phased and time-bound manner.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Councillor Mohd Amin, village representatives and concerned officers, visited Bagh-e-Khomeini and undertook an extensive on-foot inspection of the projected issues, assessing the situation firsthand and issuing on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected Government Middle School, Bagh-e-Khomeini, where he interacted with the Head Teacher and members of the teaching staff to review the overall functioning of the institution. The school authorities informed him that the school has an enrolment of 182 students and highlighted the shortage of teaching staff. They requested the deployment of temporary teachers to ensure smooth academic activities.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that the shortage of teachers would be addressed through the ongoing recruitment process. He directed the Chief Education Officer to explore the possibility of making suitable teaching arrangements to meet the immediate academic requirements of the school until regular appointments are made. He further assured that every effort would be made to bridge the staffing gaps and strengthen the academic environment in the institution.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Balvatika section of the school and reviewed the availability of furniture, computers, smart classroom facilities and other educational infrastructure. He inspected the Mid-Day Meal being served to the students and appreciated the efforts of the teaching staff and the Village Community Support (VCS) in ensuring the smooth functioning of the institution.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the newly constructed building of Government Middle School and reviewed the progress of the remaining works. He directed the concerned agency to expedite the completion of the building, including tiling of the school ground, so that the infrastructure could be made fully functional at the earliest.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the proposed link road connecting Bagh-e-Khomeini with Poyen and the road along the riverbank. After examining the issues on the ground, he directed the concerned departments to expedite the execution of the works and assured the local residents that traffic-related concerns and other developmental issues would be addressed on priority.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the active participation of the Councillor, village representatives and the concerned departments and reiterated the District Administration’s commitment to ensuring timely execution of developmental works and improving public service delivery through regular field inspections and close coordination with all stakeholders.
