Summer Training Programme 2026 Commences at DIET Kargil.
Kargil, July 18, 2026: The Summer Training Programme 2026 for different Target groups commenced today at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kargil. The programme began with a one-day capacity-building workshop on Pedagogical Leadership for Heads of Middle Schools.
The inaugural session was graced by the DC/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Shri Rakesh Kumar (IAS), who delivered the inaugural address. Sh. Rakesh Kumar highlighted key gaps identified in current school functioning and outlined a vision for the overall improvement of the region’s education sector. He emphasized that the core administration and conduct at every level of education must remain strictly child-centric, keeping student learning and holistic development as the topmost priority.
Interacting closely with the participants, the DC shared valuable insights on the pivotal role of school heads. While he highly appreciated the leaders working with exceptional dedication, he also stressed the need for fixing accountability for continuous defaulters.
This summer, DIET Kargil, in collaboration with various knowledge partners, is conducting a series of professional development programmes covering diverse themes, including School Leadership, Holistic Progress Card (HPC), Balvatika, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), subject-specific pedagogies, STEM Education, and Digital Pedagogy etc. These programmes are designed to strengthen teacher competencies and leadership capacities in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Frameworks.
Today’s inaugural training on Pedagogical Leadership oriented 78 Heads of Middle Schools on key dimensions of leadership in Indian context, school transformation, Pedagogical leadership framework, annual Pedagogical plan and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
The technical sessions were facilitated by Dr. Willayat Ali, Senior Faculty, DIET Kargil, who shared practical perspectives and research-based approaches to strengthening pedagogical leadership in schools.
The remaining training programmes under the Summer Training Calendar 2026 will be conducted at designated venues between 20th July to 8th August 2026 as per the training schedule already issued by DIET Kargil.
