    DC Drass attends final match ceremony of Drass Premiere League.
    Drass, July 19, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Drass, Imteeaz Kacho, attended and witnessed the final match of Drass Premier League (DPL) between Friends Club Drass and Matayin Legends today at the KBS Cricket Stadium as chief guest. The tournament was organised by Adventure Association of Ladakh.
    Councillor LAHDC (Bhimbat Constituency) Abdul Wahid was also present on the occasion along with other guests.
    The final match saw a nerve-wrecking and high-octane contest between Friends Club Drass and Matayin Legends . It ended in a nail-biting finish in which Matayin Legends chased down the mammoth total of 210 runs within the stipulated twenty overs. The last few overs saw some superb display of grit and power hitting.
    In his address, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated both the teams playing in the finals and exuded confidence about the passion and potential of cricket players of Drass to play professionally at larger platforms. While lauding the efforts of Adventure Association of Ladakh for organising the tournament in a meticulous manner, he stated that inter-district cricket tournaments can be organised in Drass and played at the KBS Cricket Ground as an annual feature.
    The Deputy Commissioner urged the players to continue playing cricket and other games with passion and shun drugs as much as possible.
    Councillor Abdul Wahid also addressed the gathering and congratulated the players and organisers. Further, he highlighted the need for developing better sports infrastructure in Drass at various locations.
