PM-KUSUM Awareness Programme Held at Dak Bungalow, Drass.
Drass, July 20, 2026: The Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA), in collaboration with Oswal Pumps Ltd., today organized a PM-KUSUM Awareness Programme at Dak Bungalow, Drass to promote solar-powered irrigation systems and create awareness among farmers about renewable energy solutions.
The programme focused on creating awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme, which encourages the adoption of solar energy in agriculture and aims to reduce irrigation costs while ensuring sustainable farming practices.
Gulam Ali Naqvi, Technical Officer to the Project Director, KREDA Kargil, briefed the participants on the objectives, benefits, and subsidy provisions under the PM-KUSUM scheme. He encouraged farmers to make maximum use of the scheme to improve agricultural productivity through clean energy.
Kuldeep Singh, Manager (Rural Marketing & Public Engagement), Oswal Pumps Ltd., delivered a detailed presentation on solar pumping technology, explaining the features, installation process, operation, and maintenance of solar-powered pumps. He also addressed the queries of farmers regarding the implementation of the scheme.
The awareness programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from farmers and other stakeholders from Drass. Participants appreciated the initiative and expressed interest in adopting solar-powered irrigation systems under the PM-KUSUM scheme.
The programme concluded with an interactive session and a vote of thanks, reaffirming the commitment of KREDA Kargil and Oswal Pumps Ltd. to promote renewable energy and sustainable agricultural development in the region.
