DC Nubra Reviews Disaster Preparedness and Incident Response Mechanism in Nubra District.
Nubra, July 22, 2026: A meeting to review disaster preparedness and the Incident Response Team mechanism was held at the DC Conference Hall, Nubra, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Nubra sh. Mukul Beniwal ,IAS.
The meeting reviewed flood-affected areas and the status of clearance and restoration works. The DC directed all concerned departments, including PHE, Flood & Irrigation and BDOs, to remain alert, maintain close coordination, ensure proper channelisation of floodwaters and drainage channels. BRO and PWD departments to keep machinery ready for immediate response at vulnerable locations.
He also stressed the operationalisation of the District Emergency Helpline and strengthening communication with local communities, who serve as the first responders during emergencies.
The Medical Department was directed to remain prepared for emergency medical assistance, and the nearest executing agencies were instructed to reach affected sites promptly in case of any emergency.
The meeting was attended by Tehsildar Sumoor, Sh. Tashi Jorgais, along with heads of departments and other concerned officers and officials.
