Nyoma, July 22 Deputy Commissioner, Changthang, Shri Nitish Rajora, IAS, today chaired the first meeting of the District Level NCORD Committee at the Conference Hall, Nyoma, to strengthen inter-departmental coordination for drug prevention and control in the district.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Changthang, Shri Zaheer Abbas Jafri, JKPS, along with officers from the Civil Administration, Health, Education, Police, Army, ITBP, Social Welfare, Forest, Agriculture, Excise, Drug Control, and other concerned departments.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the existing mechanisms for preventing drug abuse and discussed measures to enhance coordination, awareness activities, surveillance and enforcement efforts. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach among all stakeholders to effectively address the menace of substance abuse and ensure a drug-free Changthang.
The meeting concluded with all departments reaffirming their commitment to work collectively under the NCORD framework for effective implementation of anti-drug initiatives across the district.
