Secretary PHE & IFC, DC Leh and SSP Leh Inspect Flash Flood-Affected Areas.
Leh, July 22, 2026: Shri Shurbir Singh, IAS, Secretary, Public Health Engineering (PHE) & Irrigation and Flood Control (IFC), UT Ladakh, along with Deputy Commissioner Leh, Shri Romil Singh Donk, IAS, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Leh, Sh. Shree Raam R, IPS., inspected the flash flood-affected areas from Ganglas Phu to Skarzangling Tokpo (Nala) to review the ongoing rescue and restoration works.
The dignitaries visited the affected areas of Horzay, Gonpa, Changspa Bridge, and Skara Village, where manpower and heavy machinery from the concerned departments continued debris clearance and restoration work. Officials informed them that teams had worked throughout the night to restore connectivity and ensure public safety.
Secretary PHE & IFC directed all executing agencies to expedite restoration works and maintain close coordination.
Deputy Commissioner Leh constituted a committee of the concerned departments to assess the damage and submit a detailed report for relief and restoration measures.
The inspection was attended by officers of the concerned line departments, UTDRF, and other field functionaries, who briefed the visiting dignitaries on the progress of the ongoing operations.
