DC Drass leads campaign of National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme in the District.
Drass, July 30, 2026: Under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), the Active Case Finding (ACF) campaign, held through AI-assisted Chest X-Ray screening and integrated health services, was conducted at Drass Hospital today.
A comprehensive screening camp was organized at Drass Hospital, covering officials and staff of various Government Departments. A total of 139 individuals (110 males and 29 females) underwent AI-assisted Chest X-Ray screening of whom 26 were identified as presumptive TB cases and referred for CBNAAT testing. In addition, 114 beneficiaries underwent Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening.
Deputy Commissioner, Drass, Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS) visited Drass Hospital for screening and interacted with Dr. Praveen Yadav, WHO Consultant (North Zone), Dr. Fatima Nissa, District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), Kargil, and Dr. Sajjad Hussain, Block Medical Officer (BMO). Syed Mohammad DPC DTC, Kargil, reviewed the screening activities and appreciated the coordinated efforts of the field teams.
The day’s activities reflected strong interdepartmental collaboration and integrated healthcare delivery, further strengthening early TB detection and supporting the vision of a TB-Free Kargil.
