DC Kargil Chairs Meeting to Review Pending Army Land Issues with DEO Leh.
Kargil, August 01, 2026: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS) chaired a review meeting to discuss various pending issues related to Army land involving Kargil district with Defence Estate Officer Leh at Conference Hall of DC Office Kargil.
The meeting focused on resolving long-pending revenue and land matters through coordinated efforts between the civil administration, Army authorities and the Revenue Department.
During the meeting, agenda points received from the Defence Estate Officer (DEO), Leh, relating to land classification, revenue records, mutation cases, joint surveys, defence land, road construction and other pending issues were reviewed in detail.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned officers to expedite the disposal of pending cases by ensuring timely submission of revenue records, verification reports and other required documents. He stressed the need for close coordination among the Revenue Department, Army authorities and the district administration for the early resolution of all pending matters.
With regard to the pending joint survey of land at Pratabganj and Baroo, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned Tehsildars to constitute a dedicated team from the Revenue Department to undertake the joint survey in coordination with the Army authorities. He directed that the exercise be completed at the earliest so that the matter could be resolved without further delay.
The meeting also reviewed issues relating to land classification, revision petitions under the Land Revenue Act, defence land at Prantry, road construction over private land at Nirl Kaksar, and other revenue matters. The concerned Tehsildars were directed to pursue the pending cases on priority and submit progress reports within the stipulated timeframe.
The meeting was attended by SO Land, AJM, Commandant, ACR, Kargil, Tehsildar Chiktan, Tai Suru, beside other representatives of DEO.
