Four-Day Solar Training Programme Concludes Successfully at GDC Zanskar.
Zanskar, August 01, 2026: The four-day Solar Training Programme, organized by Government Degree College (GDC) Zanskar in collaboration with GHE from 28th to 31st July concluded successfully with a valedictory ceremony held at the college campus.
The valedictory session was graced by Dr. Amjad Ali, Principal, GDC Zanskar, who congratulated all the participants for successfully completing the training programme.
A total of 30 participants completed the four-day training, which focused on the fundamentals of solar energy systems and installation techniques. Based on their performance in the theoretical assessment, six participants were selected for an advanced 10-day hands-on training programme on on-ground solar installation at Askhow Village. In recognition of their outstanding performance during the training, they were presented with solar installation tool kits.
Dr. Amjad Ali distributed certificates to all the participants and appreciated the efforts of GHE for organizing such a meaningful skill-development programme in collaboration with GDC Zanskar. He emphasized the growing importance of renewable energy and expressed hope that the training would equip local youth with practical skills and create future livelihood opportunities.
Ms. Simar Kaur from GHE expressed her heartfelt gratitude to GDC Zanskar for its support and cooperation, which ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme. She also appreciated the enthusiasm and active participation of all the trainees throughout the four-day workshop.
The programme coordinator, Dr. Jamphel Sheyan, delivered the vote of thanks. He acknowledged the dedicated efforts of GHE, the college administration, resource persons, and participants for making the programme a grand success. He expressed confidence that such collaborative initiatives would continue to empower the youth of Zanskar with skills relevant to sustainable development and the renewable energy sector.
