Awareness Camp on Transport Subsidy under RAMP Organised for MSMEs in Kargil.
Kargil, August 08, 2026: An awareness and facilitation camp on LA6 – Transport Subsidy under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme was organised today at the District Industries Centre (DIC), Kargil, for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from various eligible sectors.
The programme was attended by MSMEs and representatives associated with handicrafts, food processing, wood carving, carpentry, carpets and other eligible manufacturing and production sectors. The programme aimed to sensitise local enterprises about the transport subsidy available under the LA6 intervention and facilitate them in accessing the benefits.
The session was initiated by Shri Shafiq Ahmad, JKAS, General Manager, DIC Kargil, who provided a brief introduction to the LA6 intervention under the RAMP Programme. He highlighted the importance of the intervention in addressing the transportation-related challenges faced by MSMEs in Ladakh and improving the competitiveness of local enterprises.
This was followed by a detailed presentation by Mr. Mudasir Rauf, Functional Manager, DIC Kargil, who explained the scheme provisions, eligibility criteria and scope of the transport subsidy. The participants were apprised of the provisions relating to transportation of eligible finished goods manufactured/ produced in Ladakh, as well as the provision for eligible inward transportation of raw materials, inputs and other materials required for production/manufacturing in Ladakh, subject to the conditions prescribed under the applicable guidelines.
Mr. Muntazir Fayaz, Financial Services Expert, SPIU-RAMP, while addressing the participants, provided a detailed explanation of the documentation and procedural requirements for availing the transport subsidy under LA6. He briefed the MSMEs about the documents required for submission of subsidy claims, including relevant purchase, transportation, invoices, bills and other supporting documents, and explained the eligibility requirements for both transportation of finished goods and eligible inward materials used for production. He further explained the online application procedure, including submission of applications through the designated portal and uploading of the requisite documents. He informed the participants that the portal is presently not accepting online applications for the transport subsidy and that, once the online application facility is made operational, the eligible MSMEs will be duly intimated accordingly. He also responded to queries raised by the participating MSMEs and clarified various issues relating to eligibility, documentation and submission of applications.
The speakers emphasised that the LA6 intervention is intended to reduce the transportation burden on eligible MSMEs, improve their competitiveness and support the growth and expansion of local enterprises in Ladakh. The inclusion of eligible inward transportation of production materials is expected to further support MSMEs by reducing the logistics cost associated with bringing necessary inputs into Ladakh.
The participating MSMEs expressed their appreciation for the awareness initiative and actively participated in the interactive session. The implementing team assured the participants of continued facilitation and guidance to eligible MSMEs for accessing the benefits under the intervention in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
The awareness camp is part of the ongoing efforts under the RAMP Programme, UT Ladakh, to strengthen the MSME ecosystem, address critical business and logistics constraints and improve access to government support and facilitation services for local enterprises.
