    Leh, August 11, 2026:
The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, is conducting a two-day training programme on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) through Devi Sansthan, with the objective of strengthening foundational learning practices among teachers.
The training is being organised in two batches to facilitate effective participation. Batch-I successfully concluded its training today, while Batch-II will undergo the training tomorrow, ensuring that all participating teachers receive the benefit of the programme.
The sessions are being facilitated by Smt. Sumita Bhatt, Head Trainer, and Sh. Pratyush Shukla, Trainer, from Devi Sansthan. The resource persons are engaging teachers through practical, interactive and activity-based approaches, focusing on effective strategies for developing children’s foundational reading, writing and numeracy skills.
Welcoming the resource persons and participating teachers, Sh. Sonam Dorje Namgyal, Principal, DIET Leh, appreciated the initiative and emphasised that strong foundational learning is the cornerstone of a child’s future educational journey. He encouraged the participants to translate the learning and innovative strategies gained during the training into meaningful classroom practices.
The programme reflects DIET Leh’s continued commitment to strengthening teachers’ professional capacities and advancing the objectives of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy under NEP 2020.
With Batch-I completing the training today and Batch-II scheduled for tomorrow, the initiative is expected to further enrich classroom practices and contribute towards creating joyful, effective and child-centred learning environments across Ladakh.
