    Leh, 12/06/2026— The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at EJM College Leh in collaboration with the Charkha Development Communication Network, showcased a captivating theatrical performance.
    The program commenced at 2:00 PM with the arrival of distinguished guests, who were welcomed by the program convener, AP Hajira Bano, Head of the MCJ Department. The official start was marked by a traditional welcoming ceremony led by the Principal of EJM College, Prof. Stanzin Yangdol, symbolizing the college’s commitment to co curricular development along with academic endeavours.
    Esteemed guests included Mr. Tashi Murup, Director of LAMO, Mr. Mepham Otsal, President Ladakh Theatre Association; Professor Tsewang Mutup DCDC; Ms. Chetna Verma, CEO of Charkha Development Communication Network and resource person Sir Rajesh. Their presence underscored the importance of cultural arts and development communication in fostering social change in Ladakh
    The event featured a compelling performance of the play”Charandas Chor” by students of the MCJ department, preceded by an insightful introduction to the play, highlighting its themes and cultural significance.
    Addressing the audience, Mr. Mepham Otsal from the Ladakh Theatre Association shared valuable insights on the role of theatre in societal development. This was succeeded by a welcoming speech from the senior program director Charkha Development Communication Network, Ms. Uzma Shamim, and an address by the chief guest, Professor Tsewang Mutup DCDC, emphasizing the importance of arts and communication in community empowerment.
    A special segment was dedicated to expressing gratitude to Sir Rajesh, recognizing his invaluable contribution as a resource person followed by felicitation of Charkha team members.The program culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Mohammad Ali Khan, Assistant Professor of MCJ Department, acknowledging all participants and organizers for their efforts.
