The two-day PM Vishwakarma Artisans Showcase under the Star Hotel Initiative was organised by the SLPMU, PM Vishwakarma, Ladakh, under the guidance and direction of Shri Danish Ashraf, Joint Development Commissioner, PM Vishwakarma, O/o DCMSME. Held at The Abduz Hotel, Leh, on 23rd and 24th August 2026, the initiative provided PM Vishwakarma artisans of Ladakh with an opportunity to showcase their traditional craftsmanship and products in a premium hospitality setting, while creating avenues for greater visibility and market linkages.
The second day of the initiative was graced by Shri Himanshu Gupta, IAS, Administrative Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Ladakh, who visited the artisans’ stalls and interacted with the participating artisans. He encouraged and motivated the artisans and apprised them of various upcoming training programmes and exhibitions where they could participate, showcase their products and explore wider market opportunities.
The initiative was supported by The Abduz Hotel, Leh, whose cooperation provided the artisans with a valuable platform to showcase their products and connect with potential customers in a star-hotel setting.
The showcase marks a significant step towards strengthening market linkages, visibility and enterprise opportunities for PM Vishwakarma artisans of Ladakh, while promoting and preserving the region’s rich traditional craftsmanship.
