Deputy Commissioner Drass reviews preparations for Jal Arpan Diwas.
Drass, September 9, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Drass, Imteeaz Kacho today visited the Panchayat Ghar in Bhimbat to take stock of the preparations for the forthcoming Jal Arpan Diwas scheduled to be held on 12th September. He was accompanied by Executive Engineer, PHE/I&FC Mohammad Abdullah; Block Development Officer, Shahid Sultan; and Assistant Executive Engineer, PHE, Zakir Hussain and otherofficials of PHE RD&PR.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that the JJM assets of Bhimbat village will be handed over to the Gram Panchayat on the occasion of Jal Arpan Diwas. He emphasized the importance of strengthening water-related infrastructure and ensuring optimum community participation.
Further, the Deputy Commissioner stated that Jal Arpan Diwas will provide the community an opportunity to understand the importance of water conservation, sustainable management of water resources and collective responsibility towards protecting this vital natural resource.
