Agriculture Department Drass Organizes Five-Day Farmer Exposure Visit to Kargil.
Drass, September 17, 2026: The Department of Agriculture, Drass, organized a five-day training for farmers of Drass District from 17.09.2026 to 21.09.2026 Kargil District with the objective of providing farmers with practical knowledge, exposure to modern agricultural practices, and an opportunity to interact with progressive farmers and agricultural experts.
It was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner of Drass Imteeaz Kacho, along with Tehsildar (HQ) Sh. Abdul Aziz, in the presence of officers and officials of the Department of Agriculture.
On the occasion, the Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) Drass, Ms. Stanzin Idong briefed the participating farmers about the detailed itinerary and activities planned for the five-day programme.
During the visit, the farmers will visit Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), SKUAST, interact with progressive farmers, and undertake an exposure visit to Kurbathang Farm. The participants will also attend the Kisan Mela being organized in Kargil, providing them an opportunity to learn about various agricultural technologies, schemes, farm practices, and innovations.
The programme aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of farmers through field-level learning, practical demonstrations, expert interaction and peer-to-peer learning.
