Demonstration and Training Programme for Anganwadi Helpers Organised at SIHM Leh.
Leh, September 19, 2026: A one day Demonstration and Training Programme for Anganwadi Helpers was organised today at SIHM Leh by ICDS Department Leh, as part of the ongoing Poshan Mah under the theme “Hot Cooked Meals”.
The training programme was aimed at enhancing the culinary skills and practical knowledge of Anganwadi Helpers with a special focus on hygienic food preparation, nutrition, taste, food safety and easy-to-prepare recipes suitable for children and beneficiaries at Anganwadi Centres.
The faculty members of SIHM Leh conducted practical demonstrations and hands-on training, introducing the participants to simple, nutritious and locally adaptable recipes making optimum use of locally available ingredients.
Principal SIHM, Sachin Bali (JKAS) and CDPO Leh, Zarina Bano, attended the programme.
The visiting officers interacted with the participants and appreciated the initiative, highlighting the importance of strengthening the capacity of frontline workers involved in the preparation and provision of nutritious meals to children at Anganwadi Centres.
