DC Sham Chairs Review Meeting on Revision of Electoral Rolls of PRIs.
Khaltsi, September 30, 2026: The Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Smt. Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), today chaired a review meeting regarding the ongoing revision of Electoral Rolls of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in Sham District, with a focus on the updation, addition, deletion and correction of entries in the electoral rolls.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of the electoral roll revision process in accordance with the schedule issued by the Election Commission for UTs. The revision process includes the filing of claims and objections for addition, deletion, correction and transposition of entries in the Panchayat Electoral Rolls.
The meeting also discussed measures to ensure that eligible voters are duly enrolled and that necessary corrections and deletions are carried out as per the prescribed procedures and timelines.
The BDO, Khaltsi, apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the status of the ongoing electoral roll revision process and the steps being undertaken at the block level.
As per the prescribed schedule, the final Panchayat Electoral Roll 2026 is scheduled to be published on October 1, 2026, with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
The meeting was attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khaltsi, Mohd. Sharif; Block Development Officer, Khaltsi, Phunchok Angchuk; along with the concerned Panchayat Inspector.
