Khidmat-e-Awam and Special Gram Sabha Held at Shargole.
Kargil, October 2, 2026: Khidmat-e-Awam and Special Gram Sabha was organised at the BDO Office, Shargole, under the supervision of the Block Development Officer, Shargole, to sensitise the public about various government welfare schemes and programmes.
Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Kargil, and Additional District Programme Officer, ICDS Projects Kargil, Mr Shafaq Ahmad Mir, JKAS, attended the programme as the chief guest. Officers and officials from various line departments participated in the event.
From ICDS Project Shargole, CDPO Shargole Ms Farida Banoo, along with the Block Coordinator, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, participated in the programme. Representatives of various departments apprised the public about welfare schemes and services being implemented for their benefit.
The CDPO briefed the participants about key ICDS initiatives, including the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP), Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), Poshan Maah and other allied schemes. The Block Coordinator provided detailed information on the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), including its eligibility criteria, benefits and registration process.
The Anganwadi Workers also showcased nutritious food items served at Anganwadi Centres along with various locally available food products, highlighting the importance of nutritious local food and discouraging the consumption of junk and fast food.
During the programme, the ACD interacted with the public, listened to their queries and grievances and assured them of appropriate action for their resolution.
Meanwhile, Special Gram Sabhas were also conducted in the Panchayats of Pashkum Block. Supervisor Ms Punchok Dolma from ICDS Project Shargole attended the Gram Sabha and apprised participants about relevant ICDS schemes and initiatives.
