Disaster Management Training Programme Held at RDD Office Leh.
Leh, October 10, 2026: Under the aegis of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Leh, in collaboration with the 13th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), a Disaster Management Training Programme was conducted today at the Rural Development Department (RDD) office complex, Leh.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Inspector Puran Singh Negi of the 13th Battalion, followed by a lecture-cum-demonstration by the NDRF team. The training included demonstrations on CPR, response to LPG cylinder leakage and fire emergencies, use of floating rescue devices, and preparation of improvised stretchers using household materials.
The programme concluded with remarks by Jigmet Raftan, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), JKAS.
The session was attended by staff of the RDD office, Achieve office, Tehsil offices, Block offices, and District Panchayat office.
The district-wide training campaign covering educational institutions and government departments will continue until October 13, 2026, to strengthen disaster preparedness, awareness, and safety measures across the district.
