Additional Secy Power calls on LG Ladakh
Leh, April 17; Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power Government of India, Vivek Kumar Dewangan, called on the Hon’ble Lt Governor, Ladakh, RK Mathur, at Raj Niwas.
Additional Secretary Power apprised the Lieutenant Governor Mathur of the progress of approval of the PMDP project for connecting Nubra and Zanskar with Northern Grid by laying of 220 KV line and construction of 220/33 KV substations. He informed that NTPC would take up a Pilot project of the “Green Hydrogen Project” in Ladakh. He requested HLG to provide seven acres of Land for this pilot project near the existing 66/11 KV substation in Leh.
Secretary Power UT Ladakh informed that there are incomplete works of 66 KV line constructed under RGGVY by NHPC because of which two 66/11 KV substations are not being charged. Secretary Power UT Ladakh also informed Lieutenant Governor Mathur and the Additional Secretary that a proposal is under Review with CEA to electrify the border villages of Changthang & BoPs of ITBP. He requested expedited decisions.
Lt Governor Mathur stressed the need to make the SLTS line more reliable by lying about 15 KM of underground cable at Zojila Pass. He urged that the 50 MW Solar Power Plant by SECI should come up this year so that UT Ladakh can become less dependent on the Grid supply. The Additional Secy. Power assured HLG to extend full support from his Ministry to the Union Territory of Ladakh.
