CEC and DC Leh visit SNM Hospital Leh Review Covid management & requirements at the district hospital
Leh May 25: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, and DC/Chairman DDMA Leh, Shrikant Suse, visited SNM Hospital to review Covid-related infrastructure and necessary arrangements at the district hospital today.
Both the officials inspected a few sites at the SNM Hospital, including Covid-testing sheds, the old building of SNM Hospital to be converted into FLU OPD, Non-Covid patient wards and the MRI Scanning Centre currently under construction. Keeping in view the current Covid scenario in the district, they directed concerned medical officers and executive engineers of the Construction and Mechanical Division to upgrade Covid-testing sheds and expedite the pending works at the hospital.
CEC Gyalson and DC Shrikant also took stock of the strength of ICU beds for Covid patients with necessary facilities for both general and pediatric Covid-19 patients. They instructed the concerned officials to increase the ICU bedding capacity and required facilities at the hospital.
Medical Superintendent, SNM Hospital, Dr Nurzin Angmo, apprised CEC Gyalson and DC Shrikant of the requirement for a General Casualty ward at the SNM Hospital as the existing ward was converted into a Covid-dedicated ward. She stated that it is causing an impact on the general emergency cases these days.
CEC Gyalson and DC Shrikant were accompanied by I/C Covid Command Centre Leh, Namgyal Angmo; Director Health, Dr Phuntsog Angchuk; CMO Leh, Dr Motup Dorje, MS SNM Hospital Leh, Dr Nurzin Angmo; Xen Construction Division, Nisar Ahmed and Xen Mechanical Division, Jaswant Singh and Medical officials of SNM Hospital Leh.
Later, both the officials visited Saboo village and took stock of the ongoing free ration distribution drive for migrant/local labours by the District Administration, Leh.
They also reviewed the distribution of vegetable supplies to the villagers of Saboo village. CEC Gyalson and DC Shrikant appreciated the Sarpanch of Saboo village for controlling the spread of Covid-19 in Saboo village with the support of the villagers.
