Special summary revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with regard to 01-01-2022 as qualifying date: Dy DEO, Kargil convenes meeting with SDMs/AEROs, reps of political parties

KARGIL, AUGUST 13, 2021: On the directions of the District Election Officer Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Deputy District Election Officer Nargis Banoo today chaired a meeting with the Sub Divisional Magistrates/ AEROs (Tehsildars) and representatives of various political parties.
The meeting was convened to discuss the programme of special summary revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with regard to 01-01-2022 as the qualifying date including the pre-revision/revision activities.
Election Naib Tehsildar Kargil and District Informatics Officer Kargil were also present during the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the Deputy DEO directed the concerned officers to hold meetings with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for enrolment of new voters in the upcoming voter list. She also directed to start an awareness campaign in various villages so as to ensure registration of every voter in the voter list.
While discussing various measures to ensure error-free voter list, Deputy DEO Nargis Banoo directed the concerned officers for removal of all demographically similar entries (DSEs), multiple entries, logical errors etc. She stressed that in this regard the BLOs should be directed to start house to house verifications under the supervision of AEROs and the report in this regard should be furnished to the Election IT Cell within 15 days’ time.
The Deputy DEO Kargil also directed the concerned officers that in case of the need for rationalization of polling stations like change of location, change of nomenclature, basic facilities and separate polling stations required, reasonable justification should be given for necessary action.
Meanwhile, the Deputy DEO asked the representatives of the political parties to employ their Booth Level Agents and submit their list to the Election IT Cell with in weeks’ time in order to assist the BLOs, EROs and AEROs in preparing error-free electoral rolls as well as smooth conduct of the Special Summary Revision.
