A career counselling session regarding Chartered Accountancy the course was conducted by the Department of Commerce, EJM College Leh.

Today on 23rd of August, 2025, a career counselling session regarding Chartered Accountancy the course was conducted by the Department of Commerce, EJM College Leh in collaboration with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi at EJM College Leh. The guest speakers included CA (Dr.) Jai Kumar Batra, Secretary (CEO) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and CA Mudit Vashishtha, Head Regional and Branch Affairs Directorate of ICAI. The session began with welcoming guest speakers with traditional Khataks by Principal EJM Madam Stanzin Yangdol. She emphasised the need to conduct such sessions in Ladakh so that more and more students come for this profession which is considered as a prestigious profession not only in India but also world over.
CA (Dr.) Jai Kumar Batra interacted with students and explained the whole process of becoming CA. He motivated the students to take benefit of 75% fee concession for the students of Ladakh by ICAI and also assured more such incentives if the number of students increases. He promised that if there is an increase in the number of candidates, exam the centre will be established in Ladakh for conducting CA exams. He also informed the
establishment of the representative office of ICAI at EJM College Leh a few years ago to give access to prospective students regarding the CA course.
CA Mudith Vashishtha enlightened the audience about the scope of CA profession in various fields like auditing, taxation, accounting, finance, investment, banking and insurance. He asked the students regarding low enrolment of candidates from Ladakh for CA course. He encouraged the students to get enrol for CA and also informed them about the use of IT for the preparation for CA exams like video lecture series by ICAI, online availability of study materials and other resources. Also a Question-Answer session was held where students cleared their quarries and doubts regarding the process of registration, exams and preparations, etc. for CA course from the expert speakers. The whole program was moderated by Maksuma Bano, Roll No. 202, a commerce student of 1st semester under the supervision of HoD Commerce AP Jigmet Wangmo and faculty members of Commerce Department AP Sonam Gyalson, AP Thinless Chondol, AP Jigmet Yangdol. More than 50 students of Commerce stream joined the program.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by student Maksuma Bano.
