A team of super specialists from AIIMS New Delhi commenced their two day medical outreach program in Diskit, Nubra today with consultations being held at the Sub District Hospital, Diskit.
The program was inaugurated in the presence of Deputy Chief Executive Councillor, Tsering Angchuk, Sub Divisional Magistrate Nubra Mukul Beniwal IAS, Block Medical Officer, Dr. Stanzin Phantok and representative of the Security Ashoka Mission, Tashi Motup.
A total of 18 super specialists from various departments of AIIMS are part of this outreach, including experts from Endocrinology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Neuropsychiatry, Plastic Surgery, G.I. Surgery, Hematology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Gynecology, Medicine, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, and CDER. The initiative aims to extend advanced healthcare services to the people of Nubra.
On the very first day, over 500 patients from different villages of Nubra received consultations and treatment with priority given to patients in urgent need.
The local community of Diskit village also extended warm hospitality by serving refreshments to patients and arranging lunch for the visiting AIIMS specialists and supporting staff
