A two-day workshop on the World of Work was inaugurated at PM Shri Government High School, Chuchot Yokma, under the visionary leadership of Prof. Indrani Bhaduri, Head and CEO of PARAKH, NCERT.
This initiative marks a significant step towards realizing the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, particularly in promoting skill development and vocational education among school students of Grades 9 and 10 in PM Shri Schools across all States and Union Territories.
The event was organized by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, under the School Education Department, UT Ladakh, and brought together a total of 80 students from four PM Shri Schools of the district — Government High School Chuchot Yokma, Government High School Thiksey, Government High School Shey, and Government High School Chuchot Shamma.
This unique workshop was designed to orient students towards both traditional and non-traditional career paths, including 36 emerging job sectors identified by the Ministry of Skill Development, and to introduce them to the growing global trends in Artificial Intelligence (AI) that are reshaping the world of work.
Aligned with the Government of India’s larger vision to “Mend the Skill of India,” the program aims to nurture informed, agile, and adaptable learners equipped for the jobs of tomorrow.
