    Leh, August 6:
    Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Leh, Mr. A.G. Zargar, chaired a comprehensive review meeting today with National Level Monitors (NLMs) Mr. Amrendra Kumar and Mr. Rakesh Kumar Verma, appointed under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
    The meeting was attended by Block Development Officers (BDOs) of Chuchot, Kharu, and Skurbuchan blocks; officials from the Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) Leh; District Programme Manager of NRLM Leh; officials from the Revenue and Social Welfare Departments; Panchayat Inspectors; and Panchayat Secretaries.
    The NLMs are currently on an official tour of Leh district to evaluate the implementation and performance of key rural development schemes across selected Panchayats. These include flagship programmes such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), IWMP, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), and National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), among others.
    During the meeting, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the progress, achievements, and challenges related to these schemes. The role of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in ensuring grassroots implementation and community participation was also emphasized.
    ACD Zargar welcomed the monitoring initiative and assured full support and transparency in the process. He highlighted the significance of such evaluations in strengthening accountability, identifying gaps, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services to rural populations.
