ADC Kargil attends MSME-DNCC Leh One-Day Awareness Programme on Branding & Marketing for PM Vishwakarma Beneficiaries in Kargil.
Kargil, September 18, 2026: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shabir Hussain attended the Ministry of MSME, MSME Development Nucleus Cell (MSME-DNCC), Leh, UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, One-Day Awareness Programme on Branding & Marketing for PM Vishwakarma Scheme Beneficiaries at the Conference Hall, Kargil.
In his address, ADC, Kargil appreciated the initiative and urged the participants to take benefits from such programmes.
The programme, scheduled to create awareness among traditional artisans and PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries about various government schemes, financial assistance, taxation, branding and marketing, digital platforms and other facilities available for the development of their enterprises.
Earlier, in his welcome address Sh. Vinu Jee Koul, IEDS, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Jammu briefed about the programme.
During the technical sessions, Sh. Aman Singh, IEDS, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Jammu, delivered a presentation on PM Vishwakarma and Ministry of MSME Schemes, covering various facilities and benefits available to eligible beneficiaries, including Udyam Registration, financial assistance, credit facilities and support for manufacturing and service activities.
A presentation on Ladakh Industrial Policy and PMEGP was delivered by Sh. Shakil Ahmad, Assistant Extension Officer, DIC Kargil, providing participants with information about entrepreneurship promotion and available government support.
The programme also covered Income Tax, Sales Tax and GST, with Sh. Stanzin Sarap, Inspector, Sales Tax Department, explaining important aspects of the taxation system, GST registration, tax compliance, eligible GST claims, GST applicability and provisions relevant to businesses, including hotels, restaurants, cafés and other enterprises.
Participants were also briefed about banking schemes and credit facilitation by Sh. Tsering Morup, LDM Kargil. The session focused on bank loans, credit facilities and procedures for accessing financial assistance for business development.
A session on Branding & Marketing for Traditional Artisans was conducted by Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Pragay, Assistant Faculty, EDII, highlighting the importance of branding, product promotion, market access and improving the visibility of locally produced goods.
The programme further included a session on India Post Payment Bank/QR Code Generation, delivered by Sh. Jagadeesh M, India Post Payment Bank, where participants were made aware of digital payment facilities and QR-based transactions.
Another session focused on GeM Registration and the Onboarding Process, conducted by Sh. Shamim Ahmad Wazir and Sh. Sajad Hussain, Chief Accounts Officers. Participants were briefed about the Government e-Marketplace, registration requirements, necessary documentation, product listing and how artisans and enterprises can utilise GeM for government procurement.
The participants were also introduced to Artificial Intelligence for Traditional Artisans (PMU) by Sh. Rigzin Wangdus, Consultant, PM Vishwakarma SPMU Team, highlighting the potential use of emerging digital technologies in supporting artisans, product promotion and business activities.
The programme also provided awareness about barcodes/QR codes and their advantages, digital payments, formalisation of businesses and the importance of maintaining proper records. Participants were informed about appropriate grievance mechanisms in cases of delayed payments and were advised to approach the concerned authorities, including the Directorate of Industries, wherever applicable.
Also covered Udyam Registration, PM Vishwakarma and MSME schemes, PMEGP, bank loans, credit facilitation, GST, Income Tax, Sales Tax, branding and marketing, digital payments, QR codes, GeM registration and Artificial Intelligence, providing beneficiaries with practical information to strengthen and expand their businesses.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the PM Vishwakarma SPMU Team, followed by an Open House Discussion and Question-Answer Session, during which beneficiaries interacted with the resource persons and raised queries regarding government schemes, loans, GST, GeM, branding, marketing and other business-related matters.
