ADC Kargil attends Road Safety Awareness Programme at Bus Stand.
Kargil, January 06, 2026: As a part of the month-long Road Safety Week, the Truck Union Kargil today organised road safety awareness programme at the Bus Stand, Kargil, with active participation from the district administration, transport authorities, drivers and the general public.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Kargil Dr Tsewang Thinles, DySP Traffic, Tundup Dorjay, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Kargil Khadim Hussain, presidents of various transport unions, drivers and members of the public.
Addressing the gathering, ADC Kargil Imteeaz Kacho appreciated the Truck Union Kargil for organising such an impactful awareness initiative and urged drivers to act as ambassadors of road safety, spreading awareness among fellow drivers and the wider community.
ADC emphasized that education, enforcement, engineering and emergency care are the four key pillars for ensuring safe road travel. He stated that the district administration is focusing on all these important aspects to reduce road accidents and improve overall road safety.
He further appealed to the public to use public transport as much as possible and called upon citizens to make Saturdays a campaign day for using public transport, not just as an initiative but as a regular habit.
He appreciated RanThaG for presenting a powerful skit on road safety, which effectively conveyed the message of safe driving and responsible road behaviour to the audience.
Beside this ARTO Kargil, DYSP Traffic and others also spoke on various achievements and urged to follow safety traffic rules and regulations and asked to be a responsible citizen.
