ADC Kargil chairs meeting on student participation in SVEEP awareness activities .
Kargil, November 28, 2024: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani on behalf of District Election Officer, (Deputy Commissioner), Kargil today chaired a meeting at his office chamber on Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Photo Electoral Rolls w.r.t. 01-01-2025 as qualifying date and invitation for students to participate in SVEEP Awareness Activities.
Principal, Govt. Degree College Drass, Dr Amjad Abassi, representative of GDC Kargil, GDC Zanskar, SVEEP Nodal Officer, Ghulam Rasool Lal, Election Naib Tehsildar Zakir Hussain, DIO, NIC, Kargil, Assistant Information Officer, Anwar Ali, representative of Chief Education Officer among others attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed various prospects for different activities and events to create awareness among school and college children.
At the outset, the Election Naib Tehsildar, Kargil, briefed the participants about the nature of the meeting and importance of the involvement of youth for maximum participation in the democratic process of the Nation. Thereafter the issue of poor response of the students of the educational institutions across the District were thoroughly discussed and the following measures were asked by the Chair to take with immediate effect.
The Principals of Government Degree Colleges across the District shall ensure to motivate and convince the students to spare a little time and take part in the competitions according to their interests and skills i.e. either Drawing or Video Clips making an attractive message for the general public to participate in the electoral registration processes and upload the same on the given links under supervision of the Principal concerned. The Principals shall ensure that maximum number of students of their colleges have taken part in the competitions within 15 days.
The Chief Education Officer, Kargil shall convene a meeting of the Principals of all the Hr. Sec. Schools whether Government or Private and ask them to motivate the students of class 11th & 12th to take part in the competition.
The Principals may also be directed to supervise the programme and ensure that the maximum number of the students of his/her school have participated in the competitions. Further, the Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs), constituted in Colleges, Secondary/Higher Secondary Educational Institutions across the District, may also be activated for a better coordination among the students/prospective electors.
The SVEEP Team shall be fully responsible to coordinate and sharing of themes and ideas for conduct of the competitions with the Principals of Degree Colleges and Hr. Sec. Schools enabling the educational institutions to conduct the competitions in an effective manners and maximum participation of students could be ensured
Further, the SVEEP team headed by the SVEEP Nodal Officer shall prepare a detailed programme calendar for smooth conduct of the competitions in all the Educational Institutions keeping in view the forthcoming climatic challenges.
The DIPR, Kargil shall extent every possible support to the Principals and SVEEP Team in order to run the programme satisfactorily, as and when required, particularly in the field of skill of video recording, editing and uploading.
The Election Cell Kargil shall ensure to monitor the progress of each and every Educational Institutions and extent every possible support to the SVEEP Team as well the Principals of the Institutions as and when asked for. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks to the Chair.
