ADC Kargil Takes Meeting on Preparatory Arrangements for Special Intensive Revision.
Kargil, February 26, 2026: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, chaired a meeting in his office chamber today to review the preparatory arrangements for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy District Election Officer; Nodal Officer SVEEP; Chief Education Officer (Nodal Officer ELCs) Kargil; Tehsildar (AERO) Kargil; Tehsildar (AERO) Sankoo; Tehsildar (AERO) Tai-Suru and Tehsildar (AERO) Shakar Chiktan, while Tehsildar (AERO) Drass and Tehsildar (AERO) Zanskar joined the meeting virtually.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the availability of stationery and other consumables required during the SIR process, including printing of Enumeration Forms and Draft/Final Electoral Rolls. The ADC reviewed arrangements for installation of heavy-duty printing machines at the Election Office and directed that a contingency plan be kept in place to ensure smooth functioning.
The ADC instructed concerned officers to ensure the arrangement of sufficient manpower in the Office of Deputy District Election Officer as well as at the offices of AEROs for data entry and related works. He further directed that training sessions and meetings be conducted at the Tehsil level with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors to streamline the revision process.
Emphasizing connectivity issues in remote areas, the ADC directed identification of polling stations lacking internet connectivity and instructed officials to prepare an alternative plan for scanning and uploading of enumeration forms. Tehsildars were instructed to keep five (5) reserve employees in each Tehsil to be appointed as Additional BLOs in case of emergencies during the SIR period.
The ADC also directed officials to convene meetings with political parties, social activists, senior citizens and Numberdars at both DEO and AERO levels to ensure transparency and wider participation in the revision exercise.
The Department of Information & Public Relations was advised to disseminate short audio and video clips through print, electronic and social media platforms to create awareness about the ECINET App and SIR in vernacular languages. Additionally, the ADC passed instructions for organizing block and panchayat-level awareness programmes to sensitize the public about the upcoming revision process at the grassroots level.
The ADC further instructed that the screens installed by MC -Kargil be utilized for Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities related to SIR.
