Administrative Secretary HUDD Inspects Developmental Works and Sewage Treatment Plant in Leh.
LEH, AUGUST 19: Administrative Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD), UT Ladakh, Shri Arava Gopi Krishna, IAS, today visited the Eco Park, Leh; the Shopping Complex adjacent to Polo Ground; and the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Agling to inspect ongoing developmental works and review the functioning of key urban infrastructure facilities.
During the visit, the Administrative Secretary took a detailed assessment of the progress of various ongoing works and reviewed the status of projects being executed by the concerned authorities. He inspected the infrastructure and facilities at the sites and interacted with officials regarding the progress, quality and implementation of the developmental activities.
At Eco Park, Leh, Shri Arava Gopi Krishna inspected the ongoing developmental works and took stock of the facilities being developed for the benefit of residents and visitors. He reviewed the overall development and upkeep of the park and discussed measures for further improvement of the site.
He also visited the Shopping Complex adjacent to Polo Ground, Leh, where he reviewed the ongoing works and sought details regarding the present status and implementation of the project. He emphasised systematic and time-bound execution of the works while ensuring quality standards and effective utilisation of public infrastructure.
During his visit to the Sewage Treatment Plant at Agling, the Administrative Secretary inspected the functioning of the plant and reviewed its operational status, treatment processes and overall performance. The concerned officials briefed him about the plant’s capacity, sewage treatment processes, functioning and the measures being undertaken for its efficient operation and maintenance.
Shri Arava Gopi Krishna stressed the importance of ensuring the regular and efficient functioning of the STP, particularly in view of the need for effective sewage management and environmental protection in Leh. He directed the concerned officials to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the facility, regular monitoring of its performance and timely resolution of technical or operational issues. He also emphasised adherence to prescribed standards for sewage treatment and safe disposal of treated effluent.
The Administrative Secretary further stressed the importance of proper planning, regular monitoring and coordinated efforts among the concerned departments for successful implementation of urban development and infrastructure projects. He called for ensuring quality, sustainability and timely completion of the ongoing works.
Assistant Director, ULB, Shri Stanzin Rabgais; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Leh, Shri Atul Singh Mankotia; and other officials of the Municipal Committee, Leh, accompanied the Administrative Secretary during the inspection.
The concerned officials briefed Shri Arava Gopi Krishna on the progress of ongoing works, functioning of the STP, issues being faced during implementation and the measures being taken to address them.
