Leh, May 12, 2026: The Administrative Secretary, Information & Public Relations (I&PR), Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary, today chaired a meeting regarding the hosting of the 3rd edition of The Himalayan Film Festivals 2026.
During the meeting, a detailed presentation was delivered by Stanzin from FTFL, highlighting various aspects of the proposed film festival, including the festival overview, vision and impact, organisational structure, planned activities and other related components.
The presentation focused on the objective of promoting Himalayan culture, cinema, storytelling and creative talent through the platform of the film festival. Discussions were also held on the potential of the festival in promoting tourism, cultural exchange and opportunities for local filmmakers and artists from the Himalayan region.
The Administrative Secretary emphasised the importance of creating a strong cultural and cinematic platform that can showcase the unique heritage, traditions and narratives of Ladakh and the wider Himalayan region. He also stressed the need for proper coordination and planning for the successful organisation of the festival and directed the revised presentation covering detailed comparative data.
Various suggestions and inputs were shared during the meeting regarding event management, participation, outreach and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the effective conduct of the Himalayan Film Festivals.
