Administrative Secretary, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan reviews status of works assigned to CPWD like Convention Centres, Culture Centres, Eco Parks etc.

Leh, July 05: Administrative Secretary of Tourism & Culture, UT Ladakh Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan reviewed status of infrastructural projects assigned to CPWD like convention centres, culture centres, tourist reception centres and eco parks in Kargil and Leh districts here at Civil Secretariat.
The Chief Engineer, CPWD and his team of Engineers along with the Consultants briefed about the status of the DPRs, funds utilization so far, demand of funds for this year, tendering process etc. Detailed discussion took place on the master plans, architectural drawings, detailed project reports, tender documents, and estimated costs etc. in respect of the convention centre at Kargil, tourist reception centres at three entry points into Ladakh, culture centres at Leh & Kargil and eco parks at two places in Leh & Kargil, respectively. A detailed presentation on eco parks was made by the Consultants engaged by the CPWD.
The Secretary highlighted the importance of proper planning keeping in mind the purpose of the project, the climatic condition, land availability, environmental concerns, better land use, optimal creation of built-up area, handicapped friendly features, solar passive designs, local architecture etc. The Secretary also impressed upon CPWD to stick to a timeline ensuring quality and optimal use of local material/resources while executing the projects on ground.
The Secretary further impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure expenditure/utilization of the allocated funds without waiting for the fag end of the financial year.
The meeting was attended by Tsewang Paljor (Deputy Secretary), LAAC&L, Leh; S. Pratap Singh (Executive Engineer), CPWD, Leh; Shiv Shankar Meena (Executive Engineer), CPWD, Ladakh; Anand Kumar Gupta (Executive Engineer), CPWD, Kargil; Prashant Nain (Assistant Engineer), CPWD, Ladakh; Rinchen Dorjee (Architect) besides other officers. Chief Engineer (CPWD), Ladakh; Director (Tourism), Ladakh; Deputy Secretary, LAAC&L, Kargil; Assistant Director (Tourism), Kargil; and other concerned officials and agencies (consultants) joined the meeting through virtual mode.
