Administrative Secretary RDD/STW Visits Anganwadi Centres and Key Development Facilities in Zanskar.
Zanskar, September 22, 2026: Administrative Secretary, Rural Development Department (RDD) and Social & Tribal Welfare (STW) Department, UT Ladakh, Ms. Nidhi Malik, IAS, today undertook a field visit to various locations in Zanskar to review ongoing activities and interact with beneficiaries, frontline workers and local stakeholders.
During the visit, the Administrative Secretary visited several Anganwadi Centres in Zanskar and inspected the facilities and functioning of the centres. She interacted with the children, Anganwadi workers and teachers, taking feedback on the services being provided and the day-to-day functioning of the centres.
The visit provided an opportunity to assess the implementation of various initiatives at the grassroots level and to understand the experiences and requirements of frontline workers and beneficiaries.
The Administrative Secretary also visited the Segregation Plant in Zanskar, established by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, and reviewed the arrangements at the facility. She interacted with officials and personnel involved in its operations.
Ms. Malik also visited Karsha Photang and Sheela Waterfall, taking note of the cultural, natural and local significance of these places. The visit provided an opportunity to appreciate the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of Zanskar, while also observing the potential of such sites to contribute to the region’s tourism appeal and local development.
The field visit formed part of the Administrative Secretary’s ongoing engagement with the ground-level implementation of developmental and welfare initiatives in Zanskar, with emphasis on understanding local needs and strengthening the delivery of services to the people.
