    Advisor to Hon’ble LG Dr Pawan Kotwal chairs the meeting on the 10th Edition of the Ladakh Marathon.

    Leh, August 09: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal chaired a meeting regarding the 10th Edition of the Ladakh Marathon preparation at Civil Secretariat, Leh.
    At the outset, Secretary to Hon’ble LG/Youth Services & Sports, UT Ladakh Ravinder Kumar provided a detailed report on Ladakh Marathon.
    The advisor directed all the concerned departments and stakeholders to work in a collaborative and coordinated manner to make the event a successful one. He also instructed the concerned departments to ensure that the traffic advisories, health advisories, contingency plan of emergency evacuation, and due process are in place well in advance along with other directions/ meetings required to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
    Dr Pawan also instructed the Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports to oversee the arrangements required especially at NDS stadium.
    The Organizer of the event Chewang Motup presented a detailed presentation on the Ladakh Marathon. Informing that the Ladakh Marathon is growing bigger with each passing year with a higher number of participants, he stressed the need of augmenting the resources to cater to the needs, specifically in terms of increased medical support, traffic regulation, volunteers, public conveniences, lighting, and enhanced security at NDS stadium and during the whole event. The annual Ladakh Marathon running its 10th edition this year would commence on the 2nd week of September.
    Chewang Motup stressed the need of promoting the event and spreading awareness among the public in advance regarding the consequent changes in the traffic movement on the race day and advisories issued in that regard to cheer the runners to encourage and boost their spirit.
    Commissioner Secretary; Administrative Secretaries, senior officers, and officers from concerned departments were present during the meeting. While the Secretary of Youth Services & Sports, and Deputy Director of School Education attended the meeting virtually.
