Animal Husbandry Department conducts awareness cum veterinary health camp in Nubra.
Nubra, March 14, 2026: The Department of Animal Husbandry, BVO Nubra, conducted a two day awareness cum veterinary health camp under ASCAD for the breeders of Largyab, Khemi and Nungsted villages. More than 60 breeders benefitted from the camp.
During the camp, Dr. Motup Angmo, BVO Nubra, briefed the breeders about various departmental activities and government schemes being implemented for the welfare and development of livestock rearers in the region. She also highlighted the importance of timely vaccination against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and other livestock diseases, along with their prevention and control.
Dr. Tsewang Youdol also educated the breeders about various zoonotic diseases and their prevention and management in order to safeguard both human and animal health.
The Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU) team was also present during the camp and provided veterinary services including health check ups, treatment and on the spot rabies vaccination for pet animals.
An interaction session was also held with the breeders to address their queries and discuss improved livestock management practices.
The breeders were also sensitized about registering their animals on the Bharat Pashudhan App through the concerned incharge.
