At Spituk, a Drug Awareness Camp was organized and led by the villagers to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free community.
The session was supported by Mr Padma, DySP (Deputy Superintendent of Police).
He spoke about the importance of community cooperation to prevent drug abuse.Mr Rigzin, former President of Ladakh Youth, also shared his views.
He encouraged young people to stay away from drugs and make positive choices.
Dr. Sharap explained the serious health effects of substance use.During the programme, Rigzin Yangdol, Incharge of the District De-Addiction Centre (DDAC),Leh joined the session and explained in detail the facilities and services available at the centre. The information helped the participants understand how treatment, counselling, and support are provided for those struggling with addiction.
