Awareness-cum-Training Programme on Adoption Regulation Organized by District.

The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Leh, headed by the District Child Protection Officer, today organized an Awareness-cum-Training Programme on Adoption Regulation and its Procedures.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Sonam Chosdon, Program Manager, SARA, (State Adoption Resource Agency) who served as the resource person for the day. Through a detailed PowerPoint presentation, she explained various aspects of the Adoption Regulation, including the step-by-step procedure of adoption, the legal framework involved, and the process of registering as Prospective Adoptive Parents (PAPs) on the CARA portal.
The key participants in the training included officials from the Health Department, the District ASHA Coordinator, ASHA workers, as well as the Chairperson and Member of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and the staff of DCPU , Child helpline and Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA).
Following the presentation, CWC Member shared detailed insights on the role and responsibilities of the Child Welfare Committee in the adoption process, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure the best interest of the child.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the District Child Protection Officer, who expressed gratitude to the resource person and all participants for their active involvement and valuable contributions in making the session meaningful and informative.
