    Awareness Program on Tobacco Abuse held at GDC Drass.
    Drass, August 2, 2025: Government Degree College Drass, in collaboration with the Department of Health under the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), organized an awareness programme on Tobacco Abuse and Tobacco-Free Educational Institutions (TOFEE) to sensitize students and staff about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and the steps required to create a tobacco-free campus.
    The programme featured Mr. Masood Ahmad, District Consultant, NTCP Kargil, as the key resource person. He delivered a detailed presentation on the abuse of tobacco and its detrimental effects on human health. To deepen understanding, he also screened an informative video illustrating the impact of tobacco use on the human body.
    Ms. Zarina Batool, Psychologist, NYCP, delivered a session on the concept of Tobacco-Free Educational Institutions (TOFEI). She emphasized the importance of instituting preventive measures within educational setups and highlighted the need for each college to appoint a Tobacco Monitor to ensure compliance with anti-tobacco norms.
    The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Parveen Fatima, Assistant Professor, English. The event was coordinated by Mr. Mohd Hassan, Assistant Professor, Education.
