Says Desh Hamen Deta Hai Sab Kuchh, Hum Bhee To Kuchh Dena Seekhen
Raktveers are real heroes who save lives silently
New Delhi: Blood is the lifeline of humanity, a gift that cannot be manufactured but only given through compassion and sacrifice. In moments of crisis—whether accidents, surgeries, or medical emergencies—it is the silent service of blood donors that turns despair into hope and saves countless lives.
This was stated by Shri Kavinder Gupta, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, while speaking at the Raktaveer Sammaan Samaaroh organised by the International Vaish Federation (IVF) in New Delhi.
The Lt Governor lauded the spirit of service and sacrifice displayed by the blood donors. He said that blood donation is not just an act of charity but a true Daan in the highest sense, as it gives life and hope to those in need. He praised the International Vaish Federation for institutionalising the noble culture of blood donation and inspiring citizens, particularly the youth, to come forward in the service of society.
The Lt Governor further observed that regular voluntary blood donation helps strengthen the healthcare system and creates a sense of collective responsibility, adding that the ‘Raktveers’ honoured today are real heroes whose silent service saves countless lives every year.
The Lt Governor said, “Desh Hamen Deta Hai Sab Kuchh, Ham Bhee To Kuchh Dena Seekhen.” He emphasised that just as the nation provides us with opportunities, security, and growth, it is every citizen’s responsibility to give back through service and sacrifice. Voluntary blood donation, he added, is one of the most meaningful ways to repay the debt we owe to society and the country.
The Lt Governor underlined that “today, the greatest need is to maintain unity under the present leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” He said that collective strength and social harmony are the true pillars of a strong India, and by rising above differences to serve humanity, citizens can contribute to the nation’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.
Earlier, the Lt Governor felicitated 79 dedicated blood donors (‘Raktveers’), including 63 donors who have each donated blood more than 50 times and 19 donors who have each donated blood over 99 times. Their unmatched commitment to humanity was recognised in the presence of a large gathering of dignitaries and members of the Federation.
Shri Ashok Aggarwal, International President of IVF, highlighted the Federation’s work and activities. He informed that on the Foundation Day of the Federation in July this year, blood donation camps were organised across the country, witnessing enthusiastic participation from blood donors who came forward to make a meaningful difference.
The event concluded with a call to the society to imbibe the spirit of the ‘Raktveers’ and contribute to nation-building through selfless service.
Prominent among those who graced the occasion included Hon’ble Members of Parliament, Rajya Sabha – Shri Naresh Bansal (Uttarakhand), Shri Ashok Mittal (Punjab), Smt. Dharamshila Gupta (Bihar), Shri Sujeet Kumar (Odisha) and Shri Rameshwar Teli (Assam); Hon’ble Members of Parliament, Lok Sabha – Shri Damodar Agarwal (Rajasthan), Shri Sudhir Gupta (Madhya Pradesh), Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal (Bihar), Shri Atul Garg (Uttar Pradesh), Shri Brijmohan Agarwal (Chhattisgarh), Shri Sudama Prasad (Bihar) and Shri Manna Lal Rawat (Udaipur); besides Ex-Members of Parliament Dr. Anil Agarwal (Ghaziabad) and Shri Rajender Agarwal (Meerut).
