C Nubra hold meeting with Bank Managers of SBI Bank and J&K Bank Nubra.
Nubra, May 12, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Mukul Beniwal IAS, today chaired a meeting with bank managers of State Bank of India and Jammu and kashmir bank of Nubra district to review banking services and discuss measures for strengthening financial inclusion in the region.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the important role of banks as key stakeholders in the newly created district and stressed the need for strengthening banking infrastructure, account management services, and public outreach mechanisms.
The meeting discussed the status of Ultra Small Bank (USB) branches and Business Correspondents functioning across the district. Special emphasis was laid on the expansion of banking facilities in remote areas to ensure better accessibility of financial services for the public.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed bank officials to conduct awareness campaigns in far-flung villages regarding various government schemes related to agriculture, insurance, and credit-linked programmes so that people can avail maximum benefits under these initiatives.
The session concluded with detailed deliberations on improving coordination between the administration and banking institutions for effective delivery of services in the district.
