    Kargil, July 29, 2025 – Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, LAHDC Kargil, today inaugurated the PM SHRI status for Kendriya Vidyalaya Kargil located at Trespone. The grand ceremony commenced with the unveiling of the inauguration plaque within the Vidyalaya premises.
    Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Aga Syed Mujtaba Musavi, Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, as the Guest of Honour, alongside Principal of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Kargil, Punchuk Wangyal, and educationists, students, parents, and residents of the area, witnessed vibrant participation reflecting the community’s strong commitment to academic development.
    The Principal of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Kargil, Punchuk Wangyal, warmly welcomed the dignitaries and expressed gratitude for the support extended by LAHDC Kargil in establishing and promoting quality education in the region. The program was joined by the entire teaching and non-teaching staff, who were present during the event and played a key role in organizing the ceremony.
    Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon reaffirmed LAHDC’s unwavering focus on education, stating, “Education remains our top priority. Establishing institutions like PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya in remote areas such as Trespone is a vital step in empowering our youth and shaping a progressive future for Ladakh.”
    The inauguration aligns with the national-level Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2025, inaugurated today by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event marks five years of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and includes the launch of new initiatives, unveiling of campuses, and key thematic sessions focused on the next phase of educational transformation. A multimedia exhibition on best practices in education is also being showcased virtually.
    Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon also inspected the Public Library at Trespone-B, and emphasized the importance of strengthening grassroots educational infrastructure. He reiterated that education is the top priority of LAHDC Kargil, and committed to continuous improvements in access to quality learning and knowledge resources across the district.
