    CEC Dr Jaffer visits Nimmu–Padum–Darcha road till last point, takes assessment of road construction.

    Kargil, March 14, 2024: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon today visited Nimmu–Padum–Darcha road to assess the present status of the road construction being executed by Border Road Organisation (BRO).
    The road starting from Nimmu in Leh to Padum Zanskar will finally end at Darcha in HP for a distance of around 245 Km is a strategically important road funded under Ministry of Defence and started its execution in the year 2000.
    The project was initially assigned to Project Vijayak and taken over by Project Yojak stationed at Manali three years back.
    Commander 13 BRTF, Lt Col Paras along with Captain Garav of 114 RCC accompanied the dignitaries and briefed about the project and said that they are at the last phase of the project and expected to complete the remaining portion within next one months which is a historic achievement by the BRO.
    The CEC was inspired by the workmanship and the dedication they shown in accomplishing this important road and appreciated entire team particularly officers of BRO, machine operator and labours with whose hardwork such a marvelous work is going to complete thereby connecting Zanskar with Leh through this alternative road.
    The socio-economic uplifting as well as overall progress and development will usher in Zanskar once this road is connected.
    Executive Councilor RDD and Zanskar Development Authority, Er. Punchok Tashi also appreciated the entire strong force of BRO team as well as Govt. of India, MP Ladakh and UT Administration for their intervention in speedy execution of this project.
    EC Er. Punchok Tashi, Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil, Zakir Hussain, Executive Councilor LAHDC, Kargil, Lt Col Paras Commander 34 BRTF, Captain Garav OC 114 RCC besides galaxy of officer of BRO accompanied the CEC during the tour.
