CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon Inspects School Building for Specially Abled Students at Kurbathang.
Kargil, May 19, 2026: Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today conducted an inspection of the school building and residential hostel facility for specially abled students at Kurbathang, and Council Secretariat respectively.
The CEC was accompanied by District Social Welfare Officer, Dr. Sarwar Shehzad, and Executive Engineer, R&B Kargil, Mansoor Hussain.
The institution, established in accordance with the student strength and requirements, has been designed to function as a Day Boarding-cum-Residential institution to ensure quality education, care, and overall development of specially abled children.
During the inspection, the CEC thoroughly assessed the classrooms, hostel rooms, and other facilities of the school building. He directed the concerned officers to ensure that the entire infrastructure is made fully disabled-friendly in every aspect so that students can access all facilities conveniently and safely.
The CEC further directed the concerned departments to make the school facility fully functional within a week. He also instructed the executing agency to complete the construction work of the residential hostel building by the end of August 2026.
While interacting with the officers, the CEC assured that transportation facilities would also be provided for the students to ensure smooth and convenient access to the institution.
