Kargil, November 6, 2025: The Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, conducted a comprehensive review of the winter preparedness and welfare measures of the Municipal Committee Kargil workers.
During his visit, the CEC inspected the Municipal Committee Yard at Fatima Chowk and assessed the readiness of essential machinery, including JCBs, snow cutters, and garbage collection vehicles, ensuring that all units are in proper working condition for efficient winter operations. He also took detailed status of ongoing works under the department and reviewed the availability of functional buildings, rooms, and staff strength. The CEC inquired whether any additional requirements or resources were needed to enhance operational efficiency.
Dr. Akhoon also interacted with the workers and drivers of the department, listened to their concerns attentively, and assured that LAHDC Kargil would extend all necessary support and welfare measures to improve their working conditions. He further reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes such as the PM Awas Yojana.
The CEC appreciated the Municipal Committee for their continued efforts in maintaining cleanliness and public convenience. He encouraged the staff to work with renewed commitment to ensure uninterrupted civic services during the challenging winter months.
