    Kargil, May 17, 2025 – Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, welcomed Government High School Lalung students at the Council Secretariat today for an interactive session as part of an educational exposure tour.
    Councillor of Silmo Constituency, Feroz Ahmad Khan expressed gratitude to the CEC’s time and presence. During the session, the CEC praised the initiative of organizing exposure tours for students, underlining their significance in broadening students’ perspectives.
    He congratulated the school for achieving commendable results in the CBSE Class 10 examinations and appreciated the efforts of the Headmaster, Masters, and the entire teaching staff. He stated, “Teaching is not merely a duty; it is a sacred responsibility”
    CEC Dr Jaffer emphasized that the establishment of Council Model Schools aims to uplift underprivileged students and promote inclusive education. He educated students on the functioning of LAHDC, including the electoral process, the developmental planning mechanism, and the budgeting system. He encouraged students to engage in such interactions to enhance their knowledge and urged them to understand how various government institutions, including hospitals and administrative units, operate.
    Highlighting the growing importance of skill development, the CEC advised students to equip themselves with practical skills for better employment opportunities in the future. He assured that any kind of support required from LAHDC Kargil will be extended and urged both students and teachers to make the best use of technology to enhance the learning process.
    The CEC also lauded Councillor Feroz Khan for his dedication and efforts towards developmental works in his constituency.
    Executive Councillor for Education, Zakir Hussain, also congratulated the school for securing an impressive 83% pass percentage in the recent Class 10 CBSE results. He acknowledged the efforts of the school staff in aligning with the CBSE curriculum within a short period. He stressed the need to further improve student enrollment and enhance inter-school exposure activities. He requested the Chief Education Officer to identify more schools for future exposure tours to ensure a wider learning experience.
    The Headmaster of the school expressed appreciation for the support received from LAHDC and highlighted the benefits of the exposure tour, which includes visits to the LAHDC Council, the District Hospital, the local museum, and the All India Radio station. He also raised demands for a multipurpose hall and a generator set for uninterrupted electricity supply, assuring continued efforts to advance such educational initiatives.
    Students shared their heartfelt gratitude and thanked the administration for organizing the tour. Teachers also expressed their commitment to continue serving the community with dedication.
    Among the dignitaries present at the event were CEC Dr Mohd Jaffar Akhoon, EC Zakir Hussain, Councillor Feroz Ahmad Khan, Councillor Hadi Ali, DPO Kargil, headmaster and other teaching staffs.
